  • Influencers: Emerging Leaders of Leduc

    Greetings!

Every year the City of Leduc hosts an event to honour and celebrate young leaders in our community. We believe that through these efforts, we can inspire them to continue to lead and to grow into the leaders of our city, province and country.

In past years we have recognized youth leaders with a Mayor’s luncheon. This year, with the aim to recognize more young people and their contributions in a way that is fun and youth centric, I am hosting a red carpet movie event called #Influencers: Emerging Leaders of Leduc, September 14, 2018.

We define leaders as those with character – they are ethical and treat others with respect; those that serve others – they are empathetic and want and help others to succeed; and those that lead by example – they are role models, have skills in team building and can both learn and teach.

We seek nominations from community members for youth with success in one or more of these areas. Youth may be nominated for activities and successes in leadership for large as well as small acts, for when small acts are nurtured they can become large and large acts can become great!

Nominations for youth in grades 9-12 for the September 2018 – June 2019 school year will be accepted online beginning August 1, 2018. Nominations will close September 9, 2018 or when we have reached capacity for the event. All those nominated will be invited to attend the event with a guest, have their names up on the big screen and receive a copy of their nomination in which their successes are acknowledged.

You can look forward to more details about how to nominate an Emerging Leader in the coming months. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Tracy Johnson at [email protected] or 780.980.8446.
