Additional Information from Home-Based School for Teacher Directed and Shared Responsibility Families
To: BGSD Home-Based Teacher-Directed Families,
This is additional information to the email sent by our Superintendent on Friday, Dec. 31 regarding the Alberta Government extension of the winter break for students.
RE: Students are on an extended winter break – what does this mean for you and your family?
- Students continue to be on a “winter break”
- All staff are working from home (planning & developing materials) so our school is closed until Jan. 10th.
- After Jan. 10th, teachers will work with you to adapt student’s schedules & assignments to reflect this additional week of holiday.
- Tutorials & exams scheduled Jan. 3 – 7 will be rescheduled for after Jan. 10th.
Home Based programs are unique in that parents have much more flexibility and control over the learning. Some of you were using the winter break to get caught up or ahead in courses. As BGSD staff, we will follow the expectations of the province to provide students with an additional week off from school. You as parents will determine your plans based on your family and child’s needs.
